Getting their start in the musical hub of Seattle in the 1990s, Modest Mouse brings a unique sound to the alternative world. Led by Isaac Brock on vocals and guitar, the Issaquah-based band has released six studio albums, six extended plays, one live album, and 25 singles. Since their most recent album, Strangers to Ourselves, was released three years ago, the band hopes to revive fan interest with their 2018 tour.

Modest Mouse first received critical acclaim in 2000 with their release of The Moon & Antarctica, which attracted a huge indie following. At first, a majority of their fan base was the indie and alternative crowd, but their 2007 release of We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, which began a three year collaboration with guitarist Johnny Marr of the Smiths, brought them mainstream success. Songs like “Dashboard,” “Missed the Boat,” and “Fire It Up” proved that Brock and Modest Mouse had what it took to become a staple in pop culture. While their development of new material has slowed in the past few years, songs like the 2014 single “Lampshades on Fire” help the band stay relevant in the 21st century.

Modest Mouse will play at the Anthem on Monday, April 30. The show is part of summer 2018 tour that will run all the way until July 21. Monday night’s concert will start at 8:00 p.m., and the doors will open at 6:30 p.m. More information can be found here.
