Rating retraction

September 13, 2007

In “Building blues,” (News, September 6), the Voice reported that “Georgetown’s new science building will receive the lowest rating on an environmental rating scale.” In fact, Georgetown’s Silver rating in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design System scale is one step above the lower “Certified” rating, and it is a rare accomplisment to earn any LEED rating at all, especially for a science building. The erroneous reporting reflected a lack of research, and we sincerely regret the error and apologize.

The Voice promptly corrects all errors, and works to avoid them in the future. Please contact thevoice@georgetown.edu to report errors.
