Sports Information

  • Sophomore forward Paul White missed his fourth game with a hip injury. White has been a game-time decision the past three games. Sophomore guard Tre Campbell missed his second-straight game. He did not make the trip due to an undisclosed illness. As a result, all 10 available Hoyas played for the second consecutive game.
  • Sophomore forward Trey Mourning scored his first career points as a Hoya Sunday afternoon. In similar scoring fashion to his Hall of Fame father Alonzo, Mourning put back an offensive rebound with 4:23 to go in the first half. Mourning finished the game with four points, one rebound, one block, and one assist in a career-high 14 minutes played.
  • Sunday’s game was the 15th all-time between the Hoyas and Blue Devils and the first meeting since Jan. 2010. The Blue Devils lead the all-time series 8-7. It was also the first ever meeting to take place at Madison Square Garden and was the second ever on a neutral floor. The last time the teams played on a neutral floor was in the 1989 Elite Eight at the Meadowlands. Duke won that game as well.
  • Georgetown is now 202-180 all-time against teams that currently make up the ACC. The Hoyas last win over an ACC team was a 61-39 decision against Syracuse in the 2012-13 regular season finale. The Hoyas host their former Big East rivals at Verizon Center on Dec. 5.
  • Speaking of Madison Square Garden, the Hoyas are now 83-76 all-time at the World’s Most Famous Arena. Under Head Coach John Thompson III, they are 23-16. The Hoyas will return to the arena on Jan. 13 to face Big East foe St. John’s. The Big East Tournament also takes place there from March 9-12.
  • For those gambling aficionados, Georgetown entered Sunday’s game as 5.5-point underdogs.
