The Board of Directors approved a student activities fee at a meeting last week. The fee was proposed by the Georgetown University Student Association in order to increase funding for student activities on campus.
“I am absolutely thrilled that the Board of Directors approved our funding proposal,”said Marty LaFalce, a sophomore GUSA representative and co-author of the funding proposal. University Provost Dorothy Brown said the Board passed the fee “with flying colors.”
“The student activities fee will be implemented this fall and will be phased in over the next three years … I don’t think the Board had any reservations about it; [the fee] is a minor fee on our schedule,” said Darryl Christmon, the Chief Financial Officer for the University Provost.
