Bus will connect GU to Metro stations

Georgetown Metro Connection, two Metro bus routes connecting Georgetown to metro stations will begin Sept. 4.

Two routes are planned: a Wisconsin Avenue line connecting Georgetown and the Foggy Bottom-GWU metro stop and a M Street line connecting Georgetown and the Dupont Circle and Rosslyn Metro lines. Fares are $0.50 one way, $0.25 with a Metrorail transfer. A map showing both routes can be found on the Internet at www.georgetowndc.com.

Georgetown Metro Connection will run every 10 minutes, Monday to Thursday, 7 a.m. to midnight, Friday 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to midnight.

ANC Commissioner Justin Wagner (CAS ‘03) said that the new bus lines will provide a “safer, more cost-effective way to get home,” and called Georgetown Metro Connection “really positive, something that benefits the community. “
