University President John J. DeGioia announced yesterday the appointment of Dr. Spiros Dimolitsas as University senior vice president and chief administrative officer, effective November 2001.
“I am confident that Dr. Dimolitsas’ demonstrated management ability,” DeGioia said, “will help us move decisively to strengthen our infrastructure, meet critical needs and achieve ambitious aims for the University in the years ahead.”
Prior to Georgetown, Dimolitsas served as an associate director at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab (LLNL), a $450 billion research and development organization that is jointly operated by the University of California and U.S. Department of Energy.
Dimolitsas holds a doctoral degree in electrical and computer engineering from Sussex University.
As senior vice president, Dimolitsas will supervise eight University service departments, including Facilities and Student Housing, Information services.
