Football (1-4, 0-3 Patriot League)?Capitalizing on Scott Pogorelec’s blocked extra point attempt, Georgetown defeated Duquesne 15-13 on Saturday to win its first game of the year. With just 3:46 remaining, freshman Byron Anderson rushed the botched kick 82 yards for the two points needed to avoid overtime.

The Homecoming win came as a lucky break for the Hoyas, who managed just seven first downs and 187 yards of total offense. Senior quarterback Sean Peterson tossed one touchdown pass, three interceptions and finished with just 99 yards on 15 completions.

Men’s Soccer (5-5-1, 3-2 Big East)?Senior Nate Port slipped the ball into the Virginia Tech net with just 58 second left in overtime to defeat the Hokies on Monday, 2-1. Head Coach Keith Tabatznik’s squad moved to .500 overall and has seen a solid turnaround since early season dissapointments against American, Vermont, and New Hampshire. It was the Hoyas’ third overtime win of the year. Freshman Kaiser Chowdhry scored early for the Hoyas, who relied on sophomore keeper Brian O’Hagan’s five saves to keep them in the match.

Women’s Soccer (7-4, 1-3 Big East)? The women’s game on Wednesday went to double overtime before a deflected shot of American’s keeper went into the goal, giving the Hoyas a 3-2 win. Georgetown went up early when sophomore Jessie Beers-Altman sent a powerful shot into the net at the five minute mark, and then solidified their lead when sophomore Courtney Shaub scored 10 minutes into the second half.

However, the lead slipped away soon after, as American scored two easy goals within two minutes of each other. It was not until two minutes into the second 15-minute overtime that Georgetown was able to win with American’s own goal.

Men’s Basketball? The basketball program announced Wednesday that the Dec. 1 game against Houston has been replaced with a matchup versus Norfolk State on Dec. 15. Sadly, Norfolk State is probably a better team. Houston’s own Conference USA, save Cincinnati and DaJuan Wagner, is a joke.
