December 6, 2001

Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Residence Life Bethany Marlowe announced Tuesday that she will be leaving Georgetown after 15 years.

“The time is right for me to leave,” Marlowe said.

She will assume the position of Dean of Students at Winthrop University in South Carolina. Marlowe said that she looks forward to taking on a new role at Winthrop, which she said focuses primarily on education and the performing arts.

Vice President of Student Affairs Juan Gonzalez said that he learned of Marlowe’s departure only a few days before her formal announcement to the senior staff of Residence Life. No formal plans for a search committee for Marlowe’s replacement have been made.
