The Board of Zoning Adjustment will revisit the University’s 10-year campus plan in order to educate new board members about the current policy and code of conduct for students living off campus.

Two members are completely new to the board, including chair Geoffrey Griffis. One additional new member is yet to be sworn in.

The informational meeting, which will take place this week, will review the BZA’s past decision to impose a stricter code of conduct on students living off campus, including establishing a student-faculty hearing board, publishing rulings and punishment and registering vehicles in the District of Columbia.

Since the BZA decision last year, the University has agreed to reverse its request to increase the student body by 389 students. The University also agreed to staff a 24-hour hotline for neighborhood residents to report complaints concerning off-campus student conduct.

After this week’s informational meeting, the two senior members of the board may vote to include the new members in their ruling on the campus 10-year plan at a later date.
