In a recent survey conducted by Georgetown’s Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding, American Muslim voters strongly support Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry over his Republican counterpart, President George W. Bush.
Conducted together with the polling firm Zogby International, the survey showed Kerry with 68 percent, Bush 7 percent and Independent Ralph Nader 11 percent.
The survey reveals a drastic shift from the 2000 election, in which Bush led Democratic candidate Al Gore with 42 percent of the Muslim vote.
