If you are looking for someone who likes deep, meaningful conversation, look for those wearing bands of orange fabric.

The Georgetown University Student Association hopes to promote dialogue between students, faculty and staff in the University community by recognizing those with a commitment to diversity and tolerance through the “OrangeBand Initiative.”

GUSA distributed the bands at a table in Red Square this week and sent a letter to every group registered with the Student Activities Commission asking for their help in giving out the orange bands.

According to Andy Asensio (CAS ‘06), Communications Director for GUSA, the bright-colored strips of cloth will be available at every GUSA event.

The bands are a carryover from a similar and successful program at James Madison University that began in the spring of 2003.
