Nutrition facts

A healthy new addition will be available at Leo J. O’Donovan’s starting this week: a dietician.

Jody Engle, MA, RD will be working with students and dining hall chefs to improve the menu and provide diners with more nutritious food options, said Margie Bryant, Associate Vice President of Auxiliary Services.

Bryant said she has always thought having a nutritionist on staff was a good idea.

“Students here at Georgetown are more conscientious than students at other universities about their health and diet, so we saw this as another way to serve their needs,” Bryant said.

Bryant said a new nutrition database, accessible from home or from two computers in Leo’s, will also help Georgetown students eat more healthfully.

The database will include nutrition facts from Hoya Court and the university restaurants as well as the dining hall. The Corp will also be invited to post nutrition information for the foods they sell, Bryant said.
