Captain Mike Glaccum suffered a painful ankle injury during Friday’s loss to Rutgers. According to Head Coach Brian Wiese, the doctor gave Glaccum four weeks to recover before heading back onto the field.
So what did Glaccum do? The senior forward came off the bench on Sunday against Villanova, helping to spark an aggressive Hoyas team that found itself down one goal.
“He’s a Philly boy,” said Coach Wiese. “The last thing he wanted to do was miss the game against Villanova.”
In over forty minutes of play, Glaccum reeled off two shots, one of them on goal. While the Blue and Gray were unable to overcome the Wildcats, Glaccum demonstrated toughness and exercised leadership for the Hoyas in a hard-fought contest. Could the Hoya senior be taking cues from the ever-suave and persevering David Beckham?
