T-Pain, the R&B singer/rapper behind songs like “I’m ‘n Luv (Wit a Stripper)” and “Buy U a Drank” will be performing at the McDonough Gymnasium on April 18, according to Georgetown Program Board Chair Danny Fortin. Tay Dizm, an R&B artist signed to T-Pain’s label, will be opening.
Also included in what Fortin described as T-Pain’s “package deal” will be T-Pain’s own production crew, who will manage sound and lighting. Last year GPB subcontracted an outside company to control both.
“T-Pain is essentially bringing the sound with him,” Fortin said.
GPB has not yet determined how much tickets will cost or when they will be available for sale, but Fortin said that further information will be available later this week.
Tickets will be sold to students and non-Georgetown affiliated individuals in Red Square on a first-come, first-served basis. Student tickets will be sold at a discounted rate.
“The capacity is 2,500 people, so initially we’re offering 2,000 tickets to students and 500 to off-campus purchasers,” Fortin said. “If the student demand drastically shifts, we’ll change those numbers.”
