Brunch.
Everyone who’s anyone in DC has been there. There are many kinds of brunchers: the Eager Instagrammer, looking out for the most aesthetically pleasing brunch platters, iPhone in hand; the family trying desperately to force an hour or so of togetherness after a busy week; the grumbling S.O. being dragged to the back of the Sunday brunch line, all the while thinking of how they could be in bed right now; and the Bottomless Mimosa Master, who can spot a bottomless cocktail menu from across the Key Bridge.
Just as there are many kinds of brunchers, there are also many places–especially in DC–where one can spend a late Sunday morning indulging in all sorts of pastries, eggs, and drinks (oh my!). And as highly competitive Georgetown students, we had to ask the question: which brunch is the best brunch in the DC area?
Halftime has compiled a list of restaurant suggestions from a poll to The Voice’s staff. These restaurants will be reviewed by our Halftime writers, and will be given points based on five brunch-tastic categories:
Category | Points |
Price | 10 |
Food Quality | 10 |
Food Presentation | 10 |
Originality | 10 |
Diversity of Menu | 10 |
In typical tournament-style, the ten restaurants will be paired off in head-to-head brunch battles; when one emerges victorious, the restaurant will move onto the next round, until one brunch spot takes the crown. Check out the Halftime brunch bracket here!
And, as always, may the best brunch win.
