GUPD reports armed person near campus

2:24 AM Update: According to Jay Gruber, Georgetown’s Chief of Public Safety, the ExxonMobil station on 36th and Mst NW was robbed at gunpoint at about 11:30 PM on Saturday Nov. 21. The assailant, subject of the HOYAlert, was not located in an Metro Police Department search of the area.

2:03 AM Update: Georgetown University has issued an official “all clear.”

 2:00 AM Update: The D.C. Police Department are looking for a black male in a dark hooded sweatshirt armed with a white handgun.

Original Post: On Sunday Nov. 22 at 1 AM, the Georgetown University Department of Public Safety issued a report of an armed individual at 36 and Street and M St. They have issued an alert to the Main and Medical campuses and are advising all students to stay clear of the area until further notice.
