GUSA proposes extended GUTS weekend hours

GUSA representatives are working to extend GUTS operation on the weekend. Over the summer, GUSA submitted a proposal to university administrators to lengthen hours and improve service to Dupont Circle.

GUSA President Brian Morgenstern and GUSA Student Services Chair Jim Mattus will meet with the Office of Transportation Management later this week to draw up a tentative schedule. However, Karen Frank, Vice President for Facilities and Student Housing, has not approved the proposal. Her response suggested that “Saturday night GUTS service would not be in the budget,” Morgenstern said.

GUSA representatives will also meet with the Georgetown and Dupont Business Improvement Districts to discuss the potential for weekend campus shuttles financed by local businesses.

GUSA will resume hourly service from 12 pm to 5 pm this Saturday.
