A wise man once said, “Secret secrets are no fun, secret secrets hurt someone.” However no words ring less true for the Postal Museum’s exhibit PostSecret: The Power of a Postcard.

Opening Aug. 3, the PostSecret display captures some of the deepest and most personal confessions and thoughts that people have.

The idea is a simple one: get a postcard, write anything down anonymously, then mail it to Frank Warren, the man who began curating the postcards in 2004.

The Postal Museum opened its doors July 29 for a special preview of the exhibit where museum goers could explore over 500 of most personal, honest, fun, or downright scary postcards the curator has received. The event also let fans of postage practice their own craft of writing secret postcards.

The Voice had some fun trying our hand at the anonymous activity.
