Hoyas find bright spot

The Georgetown baseball team (19-24, 2-13 Big East) continued a disappointing stretch by dropping their fourth straight game, losing 11-3 to George Mason on Tuesday. An impressive long-relief outing from Bobby Kirby proved to be in vain, as the team was unable to rally back from an early five-run deficit.

In an era of college sports where mediocre non-conference schedules are usually the norm for elite programs, the No. 23 Georgetown women’s lacrosse team stands out as unique. Though the third-hardest strength of schedule in the country has left the Hoyas with a 2-5 record, the team is still confident.

For the second straight year and only the third time in the program’s history, the Georgetown women’s basketball team is going to the Big Dance. On Monday night, at the selection party in the Faculty Club, the Hoyas (22-10, 9-7 Big East) learned that they had received the No. 5 seed.
