“Toward the end of the show the fight carried outside,” Egan said. One of Emily Reynolds’ (COL ‘08) friends was among the crowd. According to Reynolds, her friend was followed home to his Alumni Square apartment by some of the individuals involved in the original clash.
Mike Shiu (MSB ‘09), who lives across the hall from the alleged victim, said that he heard commotion in the hallway around 4:30 a.m. and witnessed a group of people through the eyehole trying to gain entry across the hall.
“They were just hammering on the other [door],” Shiu said. After several minutes of shouting challenges and impersonating Department of Public Safety officers failed to draw the student outside, the group decided to try accessing the apartment through the outside window, Shiu said.
Vice President for Safety and Security Dave Morell would not comment on the incident. However, the DPS blotter noted an incident of destruction of property at 5:26 a.m., which coincides with Shiu’s account.
“The people were pretty intent on finding whoever they were looking for,’ Sam Stromeyer (NHS ‘09), another neighbor, said.
