Dan Capeless

April 24, 2008

Sophomore Dan Capeless’ outstanding performance in the Hoyas’ final game against Big East leader Cincinnati was perfectly timed. The first baseman’s three doubles helped end Georgetown’s eight game Big East losing streak with an 8-5 win.

Capeless went 3-5 and contributed to half of the Hoyas’ score against the Bearcats, scoring three runs and adding an RBI.

“We had a couple guys that didn’t have their best game,” Capeless said. “I haven’t had the best games too sometimes and along the way they’ve picked me up. It’s great to be able to pick your teammates up because they’ve been doing it for you all season long.”

As the Hoyas head into the final weeks of their regular season, Capeless will be a strong force for the Hoyas.

“In the last month or so he has really picked up his game and is having better and better at bats and the results are following,” head coach Pete Wilk said. “He’s probably the hottest hitter we have right now.”
