The Georgetown women’s basketball team (2-0, Big East) will face off against the Memphis Tigers (2-1, AAC) Sunday in Tennessee. Sophomore guard Dorothy Adomako leads the Hoyas with 21 ppg through the first two games. The Tigers are led by senior guard Ariel Hearn, who averages 13.3 ppg.

The Hoyas are coming off a 73-56 statement win against Virginia Tech (3-1, ACC), in which the Blue and Gray held the Hokies to 33 percent shooting, cooling off a Virginia Tech squad fresh off a program record 16 threes made against George Mason (2-3, Atlantic 10). Adomako led the Hoyas with 19 points, while junior guard Faith Woodard and freshman point guard Dionna White chipped in with 10 points and 16 points.

Memphis fell against Kansas (2-0, Big 12) on Thursday, as the Tigers shot just 39 percent from the floor and gave up 14 offensive rebounds. Hearn led the way with 15 points but shot 3-16 from the floor. Senior forward Brianna Wright also added 15 points, and is averaging 9.7 ppg and 5.7 rpg through three games.

Both teams will look to exploit passing lanes on defense, as the Hoyas are forcing 20.5 turnovers per game while the Tigers are forcing 22 per contest. Another key matchup area will take place on the glass, as Memphis will attempt to fight off the Hoya bigs. Up to this point, Georgetown has boasted a +4.0 rebounding margin, while the Tigers have suffered from a  -4.7 margin of their own.

Georgetown and Memphis have played each other just once before, last year in McDonough Arena. The Tigers prevailed in that matchup 63-46, as the Hoyas shot just 32 percent from the field.

Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. EST in Memphis.
