Yo La Tengo, whose music ranges from chaotic noise rock to nostalgic indie, is playing at the 9:30 club on Wednesday, April 4. The band was formed in 1984 in Hoboken, New Jersey by Ira Kaplan and Georgia Hubley and currently consists of the pair along with James McNew, who has been a member since 1992. The date of the concert is directly in the wake of the release of their 15th full length album, There’s A Riot Going On (2018), which debuted on March 16. In a review of the album, Pitchfork claimed it cemented the band’s “status as a wry and comforting cornerstone of indie rock.”
Doors for the show will open at 7:00 pm. Further information can be found here.
