It’s a difficult task to find a taxi willing to take you all the way to Rockville for Hoya home games, but those who made the trip saw Georgetown successfully defend its home turf in the first-ever night game at Shirley Povich Field.

Baseball road woes continues

After dropping a three-game set to Big East opponent Seton Hall, Georgetown baseball (12-21) suffered another setback against George Mason on Wednesday. This loss marked the Hoyas second defeat to the Patriots in just five games. Since the April 3 loss to George Mason, Georgetown has dropped five straight while being outscored by opponents 31-15.

Baseball takes step back

After Georgetown Baseball was swept in a disappointing Big East opening series versus Rutgers, the team rebounded Tuesday, edging rival George Washington 5-4 at home. The win avenged a 17-9 blowout loss earlier in the season and had all the signs of being a major boost for the team, but Georgetown faced a setback the next day, falling to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County 9-2.

Freshmen Dominate

Georgetown baseball, riding a thrilling 3-2 extra-inning victory in this weekend’s game against the University of Pennsylvania, headed home on Wednesday to battle Mount St. Mary’s. The Hoya’s young pitching staff flexed their muscles once again, leading Georgetown to a hard-fought 3-1 win.

Hoya Baseball returned to the Mid-Atlantic on Tuesday to square off against Coppin State in Hanover, Md. After going 4-5 on their Florida road trip and showing improvement with each game, the Hoyas routed Coppin State 12-0 with strong performances from a rookie pitching staff.

Hoya baseball off to rough start

Hoya baseball was raring to take the field in a three-game set against Davidson this past weekend, even after the Hoyas’ season opener against rival George Washington was postponed due to inclement weather. But awakening from their off-season slumber proved harder than expected.
