January 17, 2002

Former Department of Public Safety officer Wanda Wright has brought sexual harassment charges against various officials in the department. Wright has since resigned from her position at the University.

Both DPS Director William Tucker and Associate Director Darryl Harrison did not return calls to the Voice by press time. Several administrators, including Rosemary Kilkenny, special assistant to the president for affirmative action programs, and Dr. Juan Gonzalez, vice president for Student Affairs, acknowledged that their offices are involved in an investigation but refused to comment on it due to confidentiality rules.

Attempts to reach Wright by phone were unsucessful. The Voice will continue to follow up on this issue.
