C’est chic

October 12, 2006

Grab a pack of Gauloises and dust off your beret for “C’est Chic,” the District’s first-ever French film festival. Starting today and running through the 28th, the festival provides enjoyment for film lovers and Francophiles alike, and features works by such renowned directors as Claude Charbrol, Chris Marker and Phillipe Garrel. While this evening’s premier is being held at the French Embassy, the festival will also include screenings at the American Film Institute and the National Gallery of Art. All films will be shown in French with English subtitles, and ticket prices range from $35 (for an all-inclusive student pass) to free (for screenings at the National Gallery). For more information and exact show times, check out the French Embassy’s website at http://www.la-maison-francaise.org/
