Miss out on Coachella this year? Were SXSW tickets too expensive? Does the word Lollapalooza make you gag? Well fear not, music aficionado, because the District’s Awake! Music Festival kicks off next Thursday, October 11th, for five days of merriment in D.C.’s concert venues. Building off its inauguration in 2006, this year’s DAM!Fest showcases a healthy mix of local and well-known acts: Cat Power, Dirty on Purpose, The Big Sleep, stellastarr* and These United States to name a few. Concertgoers can obtain tickets for individual shows or purchase a festival badge for $35 to gain entry to all shows (pending age restrictions and venue capacity).
