On Tuesday, March 31, Georgetown University men’s basketball junior guard Malik Mack told On3, a college sports outlet, that he plans to enter the transfer portal.
Mack joined the Hoyas ahead of the 2024–25 season after spending his freshman year at Harvard University. While there he earned Ivy League Rookie of the Year honors and averaged 17.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game, creating high expectations for his arrival to Georgetown.
During his two seasons with Georgetown, Mack averaged 13.3 points, 4.2 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game, highlighted by a career-best 37-point performance against Washington State in the opening round of the College Basketball Crown Tournament on March 25, 2025.
Mack was the second-highest-average-scorer for Georgetown this season, following KJ Lewis, with 13.6 points per game, earning Big East Weekly Honor Roll recognition on Feb. 2 and Feb. 9.
Mack’s decision marks the second major offseason transfer for the Hoyas. Junior guard KJ Lewis announced his transfer intentions on Tuesday, March 24.
Mack has not yet released a public statement about his plans.
