Still no BE victory for Hoyas

A conference win eluded the Georgetown volleyball team for a sixth time as Saturday afternoon’s game proved to be a tough one for the Lady Hoyas. The Hoyas, ranked 14th in the Big East Conference, lost 3-2 against the University of South Florida, which is ranked seventh in the conference.

Women hit winless road trip

The Georgetown women’s soccer team (4-8-4, 1-6-2 BE) found themselves all but eliminated from post-season play after another tough weekend in the unforgiving Big East Conference. The first of the two weekend match-ups came on the road and ended with a 1-1 tie with Pittsburgh (7-5-3, 1-5-2 BE) on Friday.

WV’s Smith ‘two’ much for GU

Last Saturday, the Georgetown men’s soccer team (5-11-0, 2-8-0 BE) had more to worry about than running into the best team in the Big East, then-No. 6 West Virginia (12-1-2, 7-0-1 BE). They also collided with the man who is responsible for putting together the greatest single season offensive performance in conference history as they were brushed aside by the visiting Mountaineers, 2-0.

Much like Bill Murray’s character in Groundhog Day, the Georgetown football team (1-6, 0-4) is having a recurring bad dream. The Hoyas were once again stricken by key turnovers and an anemic offense in their 17-7 loss to the Bucknell Bison.
