It’s never been a secret that the strength of this season’s Hoya squad lies with the backcourt, but after Tuesday night’s thrilling overtime victory against No. 8 Missouri, Georgetown’s guards may just be the best in the country. The No. 14 Hoyas (7-0) defeated the Tigers (5-1) 111-102 in front of a hostile crowd.

Sweet-shooting Sugar pours it in

What a difference a year makes. Last November, Sugar Rodgers was just another incoming freshman on a relatively low-profile team coming off of an NIT season. But after leading the Hoyas in scoring with 17.6 points per game in her freshman campaign and setting the school record for three-pointers in a season with 83, the 5-foot-11 shooting guard has made a name for herself—and for the team—in a Big East conference that has consistently been dominated by Geno Auriemma’s Connecticut Huskies.

Hoyas ride wave of momentum into tournament

Last Saturday, the Georgetown men’s soccer team celebrated on North Kehoe Field as they defeated the No. 6 University of Connecticut Huskies. Not only did the win signal a victory over one of the top teams in the nation, it also meant the Hoyas had clinched the program’s first Big East Blue Division regular season championship since 1994.
