This October, Austin Freeman returned to Madison Square Garden, the same arena in which Georgetown suffered its last-second loss to West Virginia in the Big East Tournament Finals last March. This time, though, Freeman was there to celebrate. He had been named Big East Preseason Player of the Year.

Adams, in order to play for Georgetown, had decommitted from Duke. The Hoyas have quickly built a recruiting class that is nothing short of formidable.

Georgetown men’s and women’s cross country teams have both more than justified their top-25 preseason rankings over the course of this season. So this weekend, when the teams head to Syracuse, N. Y. for the Big East Championships, the chase will be on. Both squads are expected to finish among the leaders after very promising performances at Pre-Nationals.
